The (national) grid lines are spaced 1cm apart (map originals is 2cm) so you can accurately enter a point into your GPS by zooming in and using the measurement tool (e.g. in Photshop) to get a very accurate fix for your GPS receiver (Garmin GPS receivers can be set to the Irish grid)
